Het lichte, sterke hout laat zich vlot verwerken en is geschikt voor uiteenlopende constructies en timmerwerken op plaatsen zonder vochtinwerking. ### Lengte en kopmaat afstemmen op je project De balk is verkrijgbaar in verschillende lengtes tot 540 cm. Kies de lengte die bij je project past en hou bij het bepalen van de benodigde kopmaat rekening met eventuele bewerkingen. ### Optioneel drenken of schaven Je kunt het hout optioneel kleurloos of groen laten drenken als bescherming tegen schimmels en houtborende insecten. Kies je voor schaven, dan wordt de opgegeven kopmaat 5 à 10 mm kleiner. Hou bij halveren of doubleren ook rekening met 4 mm zaagverlies door het zaagblad. ### vuren hout Vurenhout komt van de fijnspar. Het heeft doorgaans een lichte, witachtige tot crèmekleurige tint en een rustige houttekening. Het is licht, sterk en goed bewerkbaar, waardoor het vaak wordt gebruikt voor constructiehout en binnentimmerwerk. Vuren is van nature weinig duurzaam en gevoelig voor aantasting bij langdurige vochtbelasting.
