Het lichte hout is gemakkelijk te verwerken en biedt mogelijkheden voor uiteenlopend timmerwerk op plaatsen zonder vochtinwerking. ### Ruime lengtes voor grotere timmerwerken De beschikbare lengtes liggen tussen 6,3 en 6,9 m. Zo kan je een lengte kiezen die aansluit bij de afmetingen van je timmerwerk, zonder het profiel van 35 x 225 mm te wijzigen. ### Afwerking van het epicea timmerhout Kleurloos of groen drenken is als behandeling te kiezen voor extra bescherming tegen insecten en schimmels. Ook schaven is mogelijk. Hou er bij die bewerking rekening mee dat de opgegeven kopmaat met 5 tot 10 mm vermindert. ### Epicea hout Epicea is het hout van de fijnspar, een naaldboom. Het heeft een lichte, witachtige tot crèmekleurige tint en een rustige houtuitstraling. Door zijn combinatie van laag gewicht en sterkte wordt vurenhout veel gebruikt voor timmerwerk en binnenschrijnwerk. Epicea is weinig duurzaam van nature en gevoelig voor langdurig vocht. Gebruik onbehandeld hout daarom bij voorkeur op droge, beschutte plaatsen.
