Het komt tot zijn recht in constructies waarbij het hout zichtbaar blijft, maar is ook bruikbaar voor wanden, plafonds en dakoversteken. ### Kopmaat van 75 x 225 mm De opgegeven kopmaat is 75 x 225 mm. Dit artikel omvat lengtes tot 7,30 m. Zo kun je het hout afstemmen op de afmetingen van je project zonder uit te gaan van één vaste lengte. ### Schaven en drenken als keuzemogelijkheid Je kunt kiezen voor schaven of voor een kleurloze of groene drenking. Drenken biedt bescherming tegen insecten en schimmels. Kies je voor schaven, dan neemt de opgegeven kopmaat met 5 à 10 mm af. Hou daarmee rekening wanneer de afgewerkte maat belangrijk is. ### PEFC-gecertificeerd douglas met duurzaamheidsklasse III Het hout draagt het PEFC-certificaat. Douglas heeft duurzaamheidsklasse III en is daarmee matig duurzaam. Voor gebruik buiten verdienen de blootstelling aan vocht en de gekozen behandeling aandacht. ### Douglas hout Douglas is naaldhout van de douglasspar. Het kernhout heeft doorgaans een roze tot roodbruine kleur en een uitgesproken houttekening. Daardoor past het goed bij zichtbare balken en andere houten constructies. De houtsoort is stevig en goed te bewerken. Zoals ander massief hout kan douglas werken en scheuren wanneer het vochtgehalte verandert. Ook kunnen harszakken voorkomen.
